Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 July 2026
Remedy Lab is published by R&T BrightLight Technologies LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with information when you use it. It applies to the Remedy Lab apps distributed through Google Play and the Apple App Store.
What stays on your device
- Your questions and answers. Remedy Lab answers with an AI model that runs on your phone. The text you type (and the title of any suggestion you pick) is processed locally and is never sent to us or to anyone else.
- Saved remedies and search history.
- Any recipe you report. Reporting a recipe records the reason you picked, the recipe's title, and the question that produced it — on your device only. We have no server to send it to, so this record is never transmitted. The app then offers to email a report to us; see what leaves your device.
- Your settings, your daily-question counter, and your subscription-tier cache.
Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.
What leaves your device
- The AI model download. The first time you use the on-device AI, the app downloads the model file from a content-delivery network. Like any web download, the network host receives your device's IP address, but the app attaches no account, identity, or question data — there is none to send.
- Data the Google Mobile Ads SDK sends to Google. To serve
and measure the banner ad, Google's ads SDK collects and shares with Google:
- your device's advertising identifier and app set ID;
- your device's IP address, which Google may use to estimate your approximate (general) location — never a precise location;
- app interactions, such as app launches, taps, and ad views;
- diagnostics about how the app and the SDK are performing.
Which plans this applies to. Ads themselves are shown only on the Free plan; paid plans make no ad requests. But the ads SDK still performs a one-time startup initialization with Google on every plan, so some of the above can be sent even on a paid plan. In the EEA and UK, an in-app consent prompt (Google's User Messaging Platform) lets you choose whether personalized ads are shown, and you can revisit that choice any time under Settings → About & privacy. On any device you can reset or limit the advertising identifier in your system settings. - Dictated questions — only if you use the microphone button. Tapping the mic opens your phone's own speech-recognition dialog. That is a separate system app, not part of Remedy Lab: it records and transcribes your speech, and depending on your phone and its settings it may send the audio to its provider (usually Google) to do the transcription. Remedy Lab never receives the audio — only the finished text — and the app holds no microphone permission of its own. Typing your question avoids this entirely, and you can hide the microphone button under Settings → Search → Voice input.
- A recipe report — only if you email it to us. After a report is saved, the app offers to open your email app with a draft to our support address: the reason you picked, the full recipe, the question that produced it, and your app version. Nothing leaves your device unless you press send there, and you can edit or delete the draft first. It reaches us as ordinary email, so we also receive your email address.
- Purchase information. Subscriptions are processed entirely by your app store (Google Play or the Apple App Store). We never see your payment details.
We run no servers, so nothing in the app reports back to us — not your questions, not your saved remedies — apart from anything you choose to email us.
Third parties and service providers
We never receive your personal information unless you email it to us yourself, and we do not sell it. The only data shared with a third party is what Google's ads SDK collects, described above — we get none of it, but it is genuinely shared with Google, and the app's Play Data safety entry says so. Beyond that, the app relies on a small number of third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Google Play / Apple App Store — process your subscription purchase and payment. We receive only whether a subscription is active, never your payment details.
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) — serves the Free-tier banner, and collects the advertising identifier, IP address (approximate location), app interactions, and diagnostics described above (Google's privacy policy).
- Model download host (Hugging Face and its CDN) — serves the AI model file on first use. It sees your device's IP address like any web download, with no account or question data attached.
Data retention
Because there is no backend, everything is kept only on your device, and only for as long as you keep it:
- Your recent question text is kept in an on-device search history (capped, and clearable in the app) so you can revisit past searches; the answers themselves are not retained unless you save a remedy.
- Saved remedies stay until you delete them in the app or uninstall. Your settings stay until you change them or uninstall. The daily question counter resets itself every day at midnight, and is gone on uninstall.
- Downloaded AI models stay on-device until you remove them; Clear unused models in Settings reclaims their space.
We keep no copies, because we receive none — apart from a recipe report you chose to email us.
Security
Your information is protected first and foremost by never leaving your device. In addition: AI model downloads use HTTPS and are verified against a known cryptographic checksum (SHA-256) before use; on Android, the app's data is excluded from cloud and USB backups; and there is no server of ours that could be breached.
Your rights and choices
Because your data lives on your device, you are in direct control of it:
- Access and deletion. View your saved remedies and history in the app, clear them there, or uninstall the app to remove everything.
- Advertising. Reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings; in the EEA and UK, use the in-app consent prompt; or subscribe to a paid plan to remove ads entirely.
- Regional rights (GDPR in the EEA and UK, CCPA/CPRA in California, and similar laws). Where these laws apply, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal information, to object to or restrict its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. We do not sell or share your personal information and do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising beyond the ads-SDK data described above. Because we hold no personal data on any server, most requests are satisfied directly on your device; if you need help, contact us below.
AI-generated content
Answers are generated by a large language model running on your device and can be wrong, incomplete, or unsafe despite sounding confident. Remedy Lab labels AI content, screens recipes against a hazard list, and refuses dangerous requests — but you are responsible for verifying anything you make or use. Nothing in the app is medical advice.
Every recipe screen has a Report this recipe button for content that is unsafe, wrong, or offensive. Because the app has no backend, the report is saved on your device. The app then asks whether you'd like to email it to us as well — only ever sent by you, from your own email app.
Children
Remedy Lab is intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and the first-run disclaimer requires users to be able to accept responsibility for what they make. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes and contact
We will update this policy as the app changes and revise the date above. Questions: our support email.
